In this project, I try to subtract myself from the most important component in my work: the person, to interpret it in another key. The person as an entity, a bridge object in which to be able to manifest the real concepts of my purpose. I dismiss the look as the maximum exponent that determines the identification, to try to delve into those details and perceptions that define the customs of a culture. A yellow bandage, close to that color that dazzles a good part of the inhabitants of this land, deprives us of them and, at the same time, invites us to decipher those utopias and most common topics, and to interpret the knowledge, wisdom and rituals more traditional of this place.

Forms of the banal, culture, nature, religion, fetishism or stereotype, through elements that accommodate it to try to show a common territory, called TRÓPICO.

Images of an era brings together a series of photographs by Ignasi Marroyo, made between the years 1960-1975, in which he reflects his great sensitivity and magnificent perception of the daily life of the moment.

Throughout his life, photography was the great passion of Ignasi Marroyo. From adolescence, when he discovered the camera obscura and chemical procedures, until the end, when he devoted himself to the digital technique, a time that he also took advantage of to digitize all his negatives, the author researched and studied everything related to the photography of a totally self-taught way

Founder of "El Mussol" and the Photo Group "El Gra" shared his artistic concerns with other colleagues.

Ignasi Marroyo, whose work largely remains unpublished, reveals in these images a way of life already past, in which we will find, nevertheless, several parallels with the current era.

According to the words of the author: "In a few years, the image will be the form of expression of our time."

Synthesizes the series in which I work recurrently, which brings me back to my childhood, to those moments that remain and accompany me.

As a child, I took pictures with a plastic camera that was wandering around my house. They were kept in a cardboard box that, over time, disappeared.

One day I began to think about those photographs and began to reconstruct those images and memories.

The neighborhood of Alegria, the fountains of the San Pascual district, Ciudad lineal, Villaconcha, the street of the mysteries, the sets of the film producers that filmed movies behind my house, the slope of the coal, the tile of the Calle Estrecho de Corea, the pond of Pili and Cándido, my mother sewing dresses on the bed with my sister Mª Carmen, the corner of Bienvenido, the mulberry trees, the rose bushes, the acacias ...

And always that mysterious corridor, full of canes and privets that crossed the whole courtyard to the street door, forming a white tunnel in winter, with the weight of snow and a figure, crossing it, as if leaving a gust of memory.

Contemplative photography is a practice linked to meditation, seeking to see reality without prejudices, formulas, definitions, anxieties, objectives, simply to see. Bring our vision to the present, through day to day, in the real, opening our eyes and allowing us to see the "new" of everyday life. See beauty and create art.

It helps us activate our senses and fully enjoy ourselves; and, at the same time, see what we are capable of expressing in the present moment. The Meditation and contemplation help us discover what we want to express with the noble art of photography.

The common denominator of photography and meditation is that both focus on the present moment. It is to feel the stillness of our mind towards inner silence.

It would be to slow down the mind and let the emotions flow, observing what happens before us to make a fusion between the elements of the environment and one same, at the same time that we feel how we release our thoughts.

Jazzlights is a sample of photographs, which seek an approximation to the world of jazz, from a photographic aesthetic, according to the musical style, and from the look intimate, personal and emotional photographer.

Surely, jazz is one of those musical styles that most reaffirms the personality of the musician, who, through his interpretations, always seeks a connection, almost spiritual, with the public. In this sense, Gabriel Brau Gelabert has explored in the performances and concerts of some of the most important performers present, certain decisive moments that connect and bring the musician closer to the spectator, through the notes and rhythms that make up this musical genre.

The exhibition starts from a special composition in each of his photographs, based on built and elaborated from the light and the particular language of black and white, that eliminates some unnecessary elements, to focus the viewer on the content and the concept of each image: emotion.

"Walking the dog. A tribute to Keith Arnatt »is a project that pays homage to the Welsh artist on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the completion of his photographic series «Walking the Dog» (1979).

I have tried to make a version of your work with the same characteristics and conditions that he: 50 silver photographs of black and white square format; with the subjects - person and dog - looking at camera; without any other living element that distracted and performed in the place of residence of the photographer, with his neighbors as protagonists, in this case in La Roca del Vallès.

I do not pretend to express that "dogs resemble owners", but, in change, yes I've been interested in looking for attitudes that can be contagious, look for difference in similarity and provoke the curiosity of the viewer by imagining stories and situations.

Heir to the century of lights and the French Revolution, the Louvre Museum has imposed as "the Museum of Museums". Visited by more than 10 million people a year, it forms a complete microcosm of photographic opportunities.

The museum, its surroundings and its life are a photographic temptation that has crystallized in the exhibition "12 hours in the Louvre". The access passages to the esplanade, the own esplanade, the great pyramid of Pei, emblematic icon of insertion of modernity in a historical setting, which highlights the ancient work through a geometric element simple and transparent. The reorganization of the spaces under the pyramid, flooded of the light that attracts the pyramid itself, the shopping center under the Arc del Carousel with its famous Pyramide Inversée, the skylights, the games of lights and shadows, symmetries, textures and perspectives ... has reinforced my need to praise the shadows and reverence the lights, surrounded by works of art, beauty and emotion.

Once the photographer finishes his work and exposes the result, it is when he begins the true dialogue between the photographer and the spectator who sees his work and who reinterprets it. Each photograph is different, because you are looking at it, and we look, and we look, and we always have the pleasure of uncertainty.

Nature, again, is the common factor of inspiration for the author, but, in this occasion, invites us to meditate through trees, water, animals, forests, snow ... No with a purely decorative purpose, but to provide us with a point of support for a deeper thought, of reverence and love towards these landscapes.

Gentle images to be contemplated to the way in which a book of poetry is opened and a beautiful poem is read and reread.

His work is developed, mostly, in black and white, with simplicity, opening the door to the expression of the creative intentionality of the author, looking for the structure of the landscape, recreating in the pure pleasure of the form generating calm images, with an unpolished aesthetic and refined elegance.

It would be wrong to ask where the landscapes of the series "Natural Beauty" are made, as if they were from specific locations. The author internalizes what is captured and what transforms his mood, bringing together a series that is transformed and transformed how it is represented in your mind. For that reason, his work can often have a dream spirit.

We could say that, rather, they are interior visions where the wandering of the gaze of each viewer will transport you to that utopian site that each one carries inside.

It is a photographic project that recreates in images two black novels by writer Manuel of Pedrolo (1918-1990).

Manuel de Pedrolo is the most prolific, most read, most censored Catalan writer and same forgotten time of Catalan literature. He cultivated numerous literary genres and can be considered as the introducer of the criminal novel in Catalan. He directed the well-known black novel collection "La Cua de Palla".

In 2018, on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of his birth, we undertook This project, recreating two novels: Joc Brut and L'inspector fa tard.

The gloomy and poor environment is the framework where the criminal plots that take place happen to "normal" people, who are immersed in situations that overwhelm them and they put their ethics in conflict

I would like to introduce you to the natural world that I know and adore, this is Nature that I see with my eyes. I use my tools to show natural art that, from another way, it would be impossible to contemplate. With my photographs, I try to go beyond what I we have in front, to pass that more artistic line that we can observe in a moment very concrete Show the beauty that there is in a slight movement of water, strength destroyer of a great storm, the still life of a forest, the immensity of our galaxy.

This work has the simple peculiarity that are works made in our environment closer. We have natural riches everywhere, you just have to see them to be able to enjoy them. Made on the Catalan coast, in the Catalan Pyrenees and interior of the lands of the principality. Even being close to my population, they have invested many kilometers and hours of field work and postproduction.

The exhibition Migrar la mirada is born from the #FilmSwapWorldWide project, which revolves around of analog photography, double exposure and the exchange of reels between Barcelona and the world, to be able to look at the city from another point of view.

Living and living in a frantic city forces us to stop being surprised by their changes and their reality. To relive it, we have to look for visual tools to stop the world, think again and look around us.

This exhibition, created from the exchange of analogue reels, breaks with the modern dynamics of impersonality and virtuality imposed on us by networks social and puts in the middle of the story an object: a reel that was shot by two photographers in two different cities.

This relationship based on an object, and the fact that each one photographs their city and its spaces, helps us create a visual dialogue, a poetic fiction to think twice The world in which we live.

Cities in dialogue with Barcelona: Vilna (Lithuania), Buenos Aires and Tucumán (Argentina), Montreal (Canada), Santa Cruz, Long Island and Harrisburg (United States), Porto (Portugal), Tartu (Estonia), among others.

The innocence and purity of the characters in the fables and stories of childhood have a duality between the asexual and infantile image, or the vision that turns them into desires erotic

FÁBULAS shows those stories where, interpretation of reading, can to change the direction towards a sobering vision or towards a passionate desire. Is the transition from childhood to adolescence and to adulthood, where the first can be those characters that have accompanied us from the beginning with a look different from the proposal in the fable ...

The photographic nudity began at the same time as the history of photography. To the principle, it was a secret, scandalous and forbidden thing, and was subject to repression morals of the time; but, currently, it is already seen as one of the forms artistic expression.

Throughout time, nudity has been changing in photography. The first nudes date from the years 1840-1842, although they were considered "documents", no works of art, and they were not exposed. They were photos of models for painters, which gave an idealistic vision of the body.

The images of the human body have always intrigued, attracted and obsessed us. Nude photography was not really accepted until the 20th century, which is when It was expressed as a realistic view of the body.

To step on Africa and feel its energy, that which runs through you from the soles of your feet, crosses you the legs and it reaches the soul. Only then do you know that you have arrived, only then You know you are, only then do you recognize that the magic is in you.

The magic…

Africa is the continent of colors, of smile, of embrace and freedom.

Furtive looks to the horizon waiting for the known that can be controlled, because the unknown can never be desired. Seas and lands that bring the fruit of survival thinking that the force of nature is inexhaustible, abundant; knowing without reflecting on the certainty that, one day, what we have, we will not have it plus.

Africa is waiting for what is to come. Africa is the hand of the eternal friend.
Africa is looking at the eyes.
Africa is emotion and LIFE.

This exhibition produced by the Museu Etnològic del Montseny and curated by Cesc Noguera, is a collective look at the work of the Secció Fotogràfica Center d'Arbúcies, which for many years has developed a large part of its work in Montseny. The sample consists of a selection of 24 photographs that project a sum of perceptions about the natural values of Montseny.

Indeed, as the authors explain, Montseny is a school of sensitivity for those who live in his lap. They have released photography cameras all inside the bumps and in the gloom of the woods. For them, and for all, the mountain is a lesson of life and a box of illusions. At the end of the year there are snowfalls, flowers, floods of streams, springs and leaf falls that reveal their landscape and chromatic richness.

Ecological and anthropological values offer a multitude of photographic motifs. But, above all, the approach to the magical places and the estimation towards the mountain it is the substrate of these images of the Photographic Section of Arbúcies. Images of feelings and identification with these landscapes. An invitation for all lovers of nature. A breath of freshness and beauty.
