An approach to the cosmology of visual representation.

This exhibition aims to be a tool for reflection on reality, perception and representation. By making evident the spherical character of the space that surrounds us, through the continuous representation of a specific point, this infinite continuity makes us aware of the limitations of spatial segmentation (framing).

At the same time, I would like to talk about the following concepts: The subjectivity of the images represented on flat surfaces. That all representations are no more than "icons" and, therefore, we can not speak of reality, nor degrees of approximation to it. From the reading of the images, the importance of the reading point and the relationship of the extension of the representations towards reality. Finally, introduce the viewer in the spherical images, in order to perceive a certain spatial sensation.

Perhaps our interest is only to portray what we see, but without a doubt, we can achieve nothing, if it is not done from the reasoning.

AQUA H30, de Alejandra Morales, Francesc Mas y Miquel Solanellas

Place: Sala polivalent Fàbrica Llobet

Alejandra is an artistic and pictorialist photographer, Francesc a landscape lover of reportage and Miquel a street photographer. Despite coming from different disciplines, they set out to choose a theme and each one to make their own interpretation: the backbone chosen was "WATER". Notably, none intervened or influenced the rest of the project. In fact, they did not know the results until their completion.

Alejandra presents the contemplation of beauty hidden in a peri-urban landscape. Francesc shows us the daily world of hurries in which we live and that ends up engulfing us. To Miquel, water helps him tell a personal story of disappointment and disappointment.

Three threads of water that merge for this collective proposal becoming hydronium.

THE QUIET SENSE OF NATURE de Andrei Farcasanu

7 - 29 April
Place: Sala polivalent Fàbrica Llobet
Opening hours: Thursdays and Fridays 17.00 h - 21.30 h., weekends and holidays 11.00 h - 14.00 h. and 17.00 h - 21.30 h
Free access

The project "The quiet sense of nature" is a personal research of the artist focused on the natural meaning of the states that manifest themselves in everyday life.

The artist proposes: stop, breathe, reflect.

Through his minimalist photography, by the small size of his works, the artist transforms each photograph into a unique and singular object. In order to perceive the artist's message, whoever looks needs to approach, study the details, slow down a little the rhythm of everyday life, get out of the usual context.

The places, the spaces, the objects, which when seen without detachment may seem banal, represent for the artist a moment of awareness of the feelings transmitted by the perception of that moment, space, light or environment. The artist proposes a way of perceiving, of knowing, subtle and at the same time natural, that is, in accordance with the laws of nature.

LA MIRADA SAGAÇ DES DE SAGÀS de Àngel Prat i Pujol

Àngel Prat, heir of a farmhouse in Berguedà and a self-taught photographer, represents the paradigm of an artist of the second half of the 20th century, who, through self-training through specialized magazines such as Arte Fotográfico, takes influence from diverse contemporary artistic trends, the new vanguard and graphic journalism.

He was influenced by contemporary styles and authors to find his own voice, which he was able to express with personality from his agricultural environment and rural themes, to dedicate himself to a work of elaboration and previous creation to obtain images of great quality.

The eye and the camera of Àngel Prat were able to portray perfectly all the works of an agricultural farm, the artistic and bucolic landscape of autumn, the modernity of Vanguardia photography and the chronicles of graphic journalism.

We compartmentalise, divide, distribute, organize, classify and order. Everything and in all areas: housing, polygons, fields, cemeteries, leisure areas ... Nothing escapes our systematic obsession to turn this world into a gigantic locker.

This means that, on many occasions, there is no great formal difference between the place where we live and where we work, between the storage of things and the "storage" of people who, from the beginning to the end of our days, go from Cubicle in cubicle.

Eder Sánchez (Vitoria, 1991) Degree in Architecture from the University of Navarra. He worked as an architect in India for two years, where he discovered his interest in the spiritual, which marked his way of perceiving art. His images, awarded internationally, have been exhibited in numerous cities: Budapest, Bilbao, Bangalore, New York, Berlin, Hamburg, among others.

The search for a universal and objective language, together with his architectural past, have led him to work with geometry as a means of expression. The combination of different geometric figures, the figure-background relationship and the absence of color are the basis of a conceptual character by which he intends to invite reflection on the memories and thoughts of life, to look for new ways of meditation.

He understands art as a mixture of visible and invisible concepts, physical and mental. Currently, Eder Sánchez continues to seek harmony between both parties, the perfect balance between beauty and spirituality.

Small time capsules preserving their essence.

Where time stands is a sample of photographs of forgotten and abandoned spaces. Images that aim to capture, not only the present, but also the past feelings of the people who inhabited them.

We photograph abandoned places so that their memory remains eternally.

About "Once upon a time ... Xanadú"

Extract back to life those places where time stops.

We discover, explore and photograph abandoned places, transferring the sensation that the place produces as it is now, most times empty, dull and inert, but also evoking the reflection of how it should be in the past, probably full of life , of light, of people, of bustle and joy.

With them we try to transmit sensations, freeze a moment, freeze time, materialize our visions and thoughts when visiting these forgotten places full of magic.

Decide yourselves, through your eyes, if we have succeeded.

Chile is, thanks to its varied geography, an ideal country for landscape and nature photographers. Chile has almost all the climates of our planet, except tropical and monsoon. This country, cornered to the south of the American continent, between the Andes mountain range and the Pacific Ocean, offers very different natural landscapes from north to south and from east to west.

In the north, it dominates the Atacama Desert, the driest in the world, where, despite everything, some years some endemic species flourish; and the Andean plateau, land of salt flats, geysers, lagoons, mountains, with imposing forms and intense colors. In the center there is a wide valley where most of the fruits, cereals and vegetables that supply the country are grown. In the south, there are lush forests that appear multicolored in the autumn, the lakes with calm waters, the majestic hills, the mighty rivers and, in Patagonia, kingdom of wind and silence, the great glaciers, reservoir of water of the biosphere. From north to south, the presence of numerous active volcanoes reminds us that Chile is the most seismic country on Earth. Also the sea that bathes it can be contemplated on the shore of its picturesque coasts.

We hope that the public of Catalonia, Andorra and Spain can appreciate the remarkable beauty of the natural landscape of Chile, which, through its objectives, wanted to capture its great photographers.

The collection of still lifes that presents us is a true gift for the eyes, a joy for the senses. De la Hoz achieves innovation from a timeless classicism, that is why his still lifes, with nuanced chromatic harmonies, distill spirituality, transcend the genre and evoke those of Zurbarán or Sánchez Cotán, so contained, austere and essential in the concept and form , oblivious to the excesses of the exuberant baroque of the contemporary flamenco bodegón.

In these works, time has stopped, they maintain a reverent stillness, an atmosphere of unreality that surpasses reality itself, they are a praise of perfection, balance and silence, which also reminds us of still lifes in the calotype of the disappeared Toni Catany.

ENSAYO PARA UN AUTORRETRATO de Isabells Casellas

This project consists of two series of small format, "Essay for a self-portrait" and "The wait", which invite the viewer to observe the photographs close up. Inaccurate, gray, austere images, full of movement.

"Essay for a self-portrait" aims to capture the author's moods in a visceral way. They are photos taken at times when something happened in his life and he felt the need to externalize, an attempt to use photography as a form of expression or perhaps photo-therapy. It was vital to show the action so that the image was understood, so I had to draw it with light. For that reason, he worked with long expositions, at the same time that he modeled natural light with shutters, to attenuate, showing the image, the moment he wanted to capture.

The series "The wait" is a reflection on an element in a room of an uninhabited place. An object that is just waiting for someone to use it, recycle it or just wait for its end.

It is the name of the curro (enclosed enclosures where the horses are collected) that each year is celebrated in Sabucedo (Pontevedra) in the territory of the municipality of La Estrada, during three days in the month of July.

Already at the beginning of the XVIII century, there is news of the first festive celebration of the descent of the mountain kisses, its subsequent rapa and the marking of the young foals. This celebration consists of picking up the horses that live free in the bush, put them in the curro, shave them and mark them.

The rapa is made by the aloitadores. The act of the rapa is, at the same time, a symbolic initiation of the passage of the boy to the youth, when grasping for the first time a colt guided and directed by the majors.

The photos presented in this exhibition are a summary of that party today.

Greco-Roman mythology has been, from its origins, an inexhaustible source of artistic inspiration. The plastic arts in antiquity, sculpture, painting, ceramics, the same architecture, drank already of the mythological sources, of their gods, of their heroes. The arrival of photography and cinema opened new creative perspectives that do not forget, however, this iconographic tradition that represents the ancient myth.

I have always found surprising paintings with mythological representations, full of color and excess and, often, a little kisch. And, with this work, I wanted to represent this iconography: the primal gods and the Olympians; the minor deities, heroes and great condemned making some photographic collages.

These are some "collages" that, printed with Fine Art photo paper, get a texture very suitable for the subject. They are finished with a passe-partout that acts as a frame, also done photographically, with the intention of finishing explaining the represented theme. Photographic images with a certain pictorial effect and aesthetic force kisch.

TREN DE BEIGING A PINGYAO (CHINA) de Joan Serrano

In China, in 2008, during the train trip from the capital Beiging to Pingyao, with a duration of 20 hours, I made a report of all the experiences of the interior of this trip. I caught the kindness of the people and the different ways of living in a train. As for the technique and photographic shot, say that they are as captured camera.

There is NO photo retouching, no framing. They are only converted to black and white.

SURI PEOPLE de José Beut

In October of 2016 I was able to carry out this project that motivated me enormously since I began to document about it. Since I arrived in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis, there were three full days of more than eight hours, traveling on roads in poor condition and with little infrastructure, especially from the second day of travel.

The stay in the territory of the Surma had a duration of six full days where, away from the comforts that surround us in the Western world, such as drinking water, electricity or a mattress to rest at night, I could live and know a little more the customs of these tribes in different villages of the region.

During those six days I was able to calmly plan the photo sessions with their inhabitants in the villages or in the vicinity of them. The photographs were taken at dawn or dusk, always looking for the most appropriate natural light and using a folding reflector that I taught to handle the local guide who accompanied me.

All the floral ornaments and body paintings, which the improvised models carried, were placed by themselves and, in no case, I intervened in their use. For this work I opted for its presentation in black and white to focus, above all, on its deep looks, but also on the striking of its body paintings, which they carry in their daily lives and that even change several times a day.

BOCINS DE SENTITS de Josep Guiolà

7 - 29 April
Place: Sala polivalent Fàbrica Llobet
Opening hours: Thursdays and Fridays 17.00 h - 21.30 h., weekends and holidays 11.00 h - 14.00 h. and 17.00 h - 21.30 h

Josep Guiolà presents a selection of his works, which take as starting point the techniques of analog photography. In this exhibition, he opens up a wide range of possibilities offered by traditional photographic knowledge and technique, acquired after almost 50 years of photographic baggage: he manipulates the positives; creates artistic compositions from toners, dyes, sunlight, liquids ...

The visitor will not be indifferent for his treatment of the portraits, the composition of the human figure or the artistic compositions that lead us to question ourselves about the limits of photography.

PINTANDO LA OSCURIDAD de Juan Jose Carrasco

The title of this exhibition that you have before you does not want to be pretentious, but the reflection of a deep desire. A reflection on the darkness and light, cloth and brush of photography.

The incomparable and mysterious background, offered by the darkness of the night, makes our eyes want to see beyond, striving and opening to the fullest in order to find out what the night hides, what its face looks like, what its colors are like, it is that it has colors, and what is its soul.

We all have some beings of the night, we are all mysteriously attracted and we are swallowed up inside, we all try to look inside his heart.

Trying to answer these and other questions we have invented some brushes of fire and light to paint on this black fabric, and we have let our imagination play with the deepest darkness of the night, discovering landscapes of unimaginable beauty, hidden in the most recondite corners of our mind. And in this attempt, we discovered excited that there are colors and forms hidden in the soul of the night.

The cinema is my life. I have mounted more than 60 films and documentaries with different Spanish and foreign directors: Carlos Saura, Víctor Erice, Bobby Moresco, etc. As director of documentaries, shorts and videoart I try to discover other forms of narrative.

I paint negative films by hand, then I record them and project them on different monitors. I also make pictures with those painted movies. With them I also create installations hanging on the ceiling and on the floor strips of films, which play with light.

The photographs I take have gone through different styles, both black and white and color: portraits, architecture, landscapes, geometric ... Now I'm working on collages of photographs, sometimes on existing photographic documents. I like to take a portrait and put clouds, a tree or anything, but always to convey an emotion. I think there will always be people waiting to be surprised by these works.

I am an intuitive person, I like to pry and reflect in silence waiting for something to appear, even if I do not know what it is. My works arise from very varied stimuli: memories, dreams, a painting, a news, a conversation, a cloud, travel ... and something important: imagination. This would be a bit of my professional career, very avant-garde, transgressive ... My work is work, work and imagination.

I believe in the intelligent and creative spectator ... who, after seeing the word End ..., WILL THINK. My works have no END, I always write WITHOUT END.

It is a project that was born at the beginning of 2016 with the aim of making known the city of Sabadell with a different look, through stereoscopic photographs of the city that I made from 2010 with a compact 3D Fuji camera or with a Canon 350D, capturing two images with the appropriate stereoscopic base.

The project sought to teach 3D images of emblematic spaces of the city, incorporating, with digital techniques, a 2D layer to give a different point of view to the binocular vision that we all have of familiar corners of our cities.

As a result of this process, I created a series of stereoscopic images, some of which I presented in different international exhibitions sponsored by the PSA, where several of them were selected or awarded with different awards within the creative photography sections, as you can see in my Web page.

The whole project was conceived to be exposed with the anaglyph system, with its difficulties and chromatic limitations, but it allows to print and view large format 3D images at a reasonable cost. The final result is images that seek an aesthetic equilibrium without glasses, despite the typical double stereoscopic image; and with glasses they show all the magic of their depth.

It is difficult to find something so brief and fragile as a flower. We could say that, from the moment it burst forth, death is already present and, on the other hand, we are only aware of it when the flower languishes, when the petals fall, yellow and dry. There is not a single moment of this process in which the flower is the same as the previous or later moment. It is the same flower, the wonderful thing is that we can find it beautiful even when it is totally withered. It only depends on us to decide which is the moment when we no longer see in it, or do not want to see, more beauty.

Extracted from time, brief moments of their existence become eternal in these images captured with a fragile and ancient technique that invites us to contemplate this work from a point of view very far from our current references. It reaffirms the passage of time. Life and death. The eternal future and the inevitable transformation that allows us to live. And this is the beauty of these images: the secret that we can never possess.

It might seem paradoxical that to capture this passage of time, this transformation, do not use the movement, but the truth, is not that we live only the present moment? Do we not have all the information in it to understand? It does not take time to show. Just for looking. Just to understand.

The images presented are digital extensions from originals made using the wet collodion technique

This collection began in 2007 with a typological approach. Throughout my travels to various regions of Iranian Kurdistan and several cities of Iraqi Kurdistan, I focused my photos, mainly, on a generation that had had a special social, cultural and political life; people who were also different and had an outstanding appearance; and decreasing in number day after day. The people of this generation have had a distinctive relationship with the collective memory and unpublished history of their land, a history intertwined with unwanted war, destruction, death, failure and denial. This narration, of course, is not the only aspect of these people's lives. Along with disasters, they have always embraced happiness and endurance in the depths of their souls. The photos in this collection were taken using photographs of films, especially 35 mm negatives.

Thank you

Heja

“Resignifying the body with blueprints”

The students of 1st course of Artistic High School in the framework of the subject of Graphic-Plastic Techniques presents this proposal about bodies, where we represent them through metaphors, fragments and poetic images.

Beauty, pleasure, taste, sensuality or strength are some of the terms that can define this collective creation that invites everyone to value the body, to inhabit it again from this new perspective.

With our bodies we desire, we feel, we express ourselves. Our body reveals our biography and vital trajectory, it is the habitat of our identity and with this photographic work we try to create an aesthetic and visual work with a great creative component offered by the Cyanotype technique.

"The Llobet Factory: between drawing and photography"

Architecture can be inspired and translated into photography. But it can also happen that the artistic character of the images of buildings lasts and at the same time serves as a source of inspiration, in an inverse way.

The oldest photograph that is preserved, set successfully, is an image of buildings taken in 1826 by Niepce. From that moment until today, the beauty, geometry or lights generated by architectural constructions have been sources of inspiration for drawing and photography.

In this collective proposal the students of the 2nd year of Artistic Baccalaureate within the framework of the subjects of Audiovisual Culture and Artistic Drawing have made, in the sample that we present, bring these two disciplines together from the study of several spaces of the Llobet Factory

The one of the Festimatge, would not be a complete exhibition if the representative images of the partners of our organization were missing. FFC besides organizing photographic and cinematographic activities, also has fans who, month to month, from October to May, participate with one of their works to the Photographic League, a social competition created to keep alive the creative spirit and to overcome the photographic section Of the entity.

This exhibition is not an exhibition designed and worked on a specific topic, but a spontaneous proposal sheltered from the Social League. Therefore, it is not possible to seek reflection, it is only about trying something even more difficult: the individual connection between author and spectator.

We hope to see you in the different shop windows of the city.
